Fear of giving birth for the first time is normal

Women pregnant with their first child at present there are more frightened of giving birth than mothers in previous years, despite the increasing attention given the media and medical research these kinds of fears.

A study in Denmark says that fears of giving birth for the first time have always existed and probably have not changed. Not occur if some women are afraid and some not, most are frightened by having her first child and that should be accepted as normal.

More and more women, both in Denmark and in the Western world, are choosing to have their children by Caesarean section and that is because they are afraid of giving birth vaginally.

During the study, researchers found that less educated women, with fewer social connections, the young and the unemployed were more likely to have fears about giving birth as well as smokers and those who felt they had a poor health.

Fears about giving birth to the first child might influence the way in which the mother experiences birth, as well as her relationship with her son, said the study. It is possible that women who do not experience great fear to be different psychologically than those with anxiety. Although you must provide counseling and giving advice to mothers suffering from severe anxiety, no scientific evidence that can really help, experts say.
