The importance of drinking water during pregnancy


Drinking water during pregnancy is important because from the belly of the mother water protects our little baby from external aggressions through the amniotic fluid.


After birth the water continues to play a fundamental role in life and full development of the baby. The 75% of the weight of our baby is water, which is why it is important to keep this delicate balance the body. In the development of your entire body bone, muscle, nerve and tissue, water is an essential component, so to support the growth of the baby is always necessary, since in the womb receive adequate hydration.


During lactation the main source of water comes from breast milk, therefore the mother's diet should be rich and abundant in liquids as well as nutritious. Choose pure water containing essential minerals is the key to hydrate every cell of the body and thus facilitate delivery of nutrients to our baby. So mothers must remember the importance of staying hydrated during lactation provided.

Drink at least 1.5 liters of water a day.

When feeding always remember having a glass of water handy.

Do not wait to feel thirsty to drink fluids because it is the first symptom of dehydration.
Avoid alcohol while breastfeeding, as well as high sugar or high in caffeine.
